Hi guys lookin for any help available here my area of expertise ( cough ) lies mainly in LCD's don't do many plasmas so,
Samsung 42 with power board P0842A ( BN44-00273B )
Its totally dead no standby no nothing even though there does seem to be 5v standby coming out the psu
the sets model number is PS42B430P2W
Thanks in advance... if not specifics even pointers would help..

Like you, don't go much for plasma, but here's some Quuq guff listed - don't know what it means though, or even want to - Chris.

The problem with it is that TV do not want to switch on. There is only clicking noise.
Unplug unit unpllug cable from power supply to y and x sustain bds. also pull ribbon cables for logic bd to y and Z bd.Plug unit up and turn on unit see what happens if nno clicking start plugging in y sus cab.e first and then x Bds this should tell you which one is bad in a y or x bd is bad you will prob have to chhange the buffer bds also there is a sticker in the set to tell yu the voltages
C heck the 2 FETS and the diode on the y sus board (they are on the smallest heat sink bottom left of board) you may find at least 2 of these short circuit.

Could be a power supply problem if there's no LED lit, and no relay clicking.

Hi John thanks for the reply dont know how I managed to miss it at the time ! Just noticed the set still lying at the back of the shop so thought I'd check for any feedback ! I'll need to go blow the dust off it now !
