Hi

Are you saying that the set is displaying colour bars on dtv?

Hi Doug

It looks to me like the set is in some kind of 'burn in' mode'

Do you know how to access the service mode and carry out a service reset?

Hi all, Thanks for your input. I've found service menu (display>p.mode>s.mode>sleep) but can't find any reference to factory reset

Hi all, Found a dvb panel on internet for a tenner. Problem solved, but I'd still like to know what causes such a 'fault' Doug.

Hi Doug,

Don't think you mentioned set model or DVB panel numbers - sounds like an old Vestel - Chris.

This sounds to me like the panel is not receiving a signal.

Once, when working on a set I accidentaly powered it up with the lvds connector partly unplugged, and the panel went through a sequence or red, green, blue then colour bars.

Hi,
Check if this is shown on the service menu:
'E2P INT', this option initialises the EEPROM,

John
