I am in the process of replacing some of the capacitors in my Samsung 32" lcd, some on the power board and some on another board but not sure of the name.
i have ordered and received the same value capacitors but some are different sizes to the originals, does this matter as long as the uf, voltage and temp are the same.
also can any one tell me what the various series of capacitors mean.
-
yes as long as they are the same rating you will be fine most of the time i use a better temp rating unless
im pulling them out of a scrap board to use can you explain a bit more for me what you mean about the series capacitors so i can answer your question in detail
-
when i look for capacitors on various web sites they quote the series as well as the uf, voltage etc.
tried to replace a tiny capacitor on the board and find it is impossible it is just too small so i am looking for a replacement board BN41-00895B. any help would be appreciated in locating one.

Hi Blue,
You haven't said anything about your problem on 'Samsung 32' of no named model, and why you should need a smaller cap than those readily available - Also, what type board is a BN41-00895B ?
Curious - Chris
-
sorry for being a bit unclear, the model is Samsung LE32M8 lcd tv, and the problem was getting slower to start up, 10 seconds, and horizontal flickering lines on startup that cleared after five minutes.
looking at various forums it seems faulty capacitors cause the slow startup, and i have changed some but not all are the same size but have the same values, these were on the main power PCB.
the flickering lines problem was identified as a tiny 5mm capacitor on another board above and to the right of the power PCB looking at the rear of the tv. although i have a replacement capacitor it is proving too small to solder so am looking for a replacement PCB instead. BN41-00895B.
hope that clears things up

Hi Blue,
Why not clean up the pads, use a touch of 'Super glue' then solder cap when it stops leaping about.
Mine usually stick to the iron otherwise - best of luck - Chris
-
thanks for the help,
a friend of mine cleverly made a stalagmite of solder on the board contacts then touched the capacitor to them next to the soldering iron.
tv working fine now.
-
Hi Blue,
Congrats, and what was that cap ? - Could become a 'stock' problem earning a modest pound for some more professional (but still non LG) Quuq folks - Chris.
-
hello,
if it will help any the cap was a surface mounted 1UF 50v about 5mm square.
-
Hi Blue,
Could help more with circuit ref 'C' number, and even a piccy - asking too much ?
Have noted that mildly serious Quuq folks are never offended - Chris.
-
hello,
if it helps anyone the location of the capacitor in question is on the sub assembly location C6108_FRC.
strangely the schematic shows it as 1uf 10volt but the corresponding parts list show it as 50volt, which is the one i have gone with.
i have a pdf of the schematics for the tv.
-
Hi Blue,
Many thanks, personal DB up-dated - does Quuq now have those shematics on file ? - Chris
-
these are the schematics and parts list
-
sorry, this is the parts list
-
Hi Blue,
Nice one - many thanks - Chris
