Hi this is my first time posting here, been reading for a while and there's some fantastic advice on here.
I have a Samsung P2270HD LCD TV in for repair, basically the set powers up ok and the picture is crisp and clear for 2 seconds before the backlight shuts down, the sound stays on and I can still see the faint image of the lcd,
I've checked all the capacitors on the psu and they all look fine (no bulging/leaking)
Also it's a combined inverter/psu board
Anyone got any ideas?
Many thanks,
Jamie

Inverters switching off after a second or so is because the inverter circuit has detected something is wrong.
It may be a faulty tube, or just a tube gone out of tollerance, of could be a a component fault, often capacitors or transformers.
Do you have the circuit or service manual?
Have a look and tell us what chip is used for the inverter, there are many tricks you can do to disable or inhibit the protection circuits that will enable the inverter to run in spite of a fault which might make it easier to find and fix the real fault.

I have exactly that same issue. The picture shows occasionally for a split seconds then switches off leaving a black screen and just the sound playing.. Did you fix yours and if so what did you buy and how did you do it.
Any help would be appreciated. :sign0085:

Hi,
Original piccy not good enough to make out panel or transformer number - checked my pics and can't find identical one - Chris.

Might just sell it as faulty for spares. As I'm getting no where with it. Curry's where i brought it fun want 95 pound before they've even diagnosed the problem then will come the bill to fix it. By this time i may as well have purchased a new one.

Done, Thanks.

Just to keep you updated, I brought a new TV. Not as good as the one that's broken but anyway thought I'd post it on here as selling it as faulty and thought this would be the best place to advertise it. See pics below.

hi
how much for tv ?
dave

If you can fix it for me for estimated 50 pound I'd say you could fix it for yourself alot cheaper so how about buying it from me for 40 pounds?
Still be at a bargain price.
