Hi folks,
Have one of these where PS doesn't fire up. Checked secondary caps and diodes and primary voltages where all seems reasonable without shematic.
PS is WX-15/19/20Power-01 (perhaps Apex LD1919) with single 12v output - think prob may be SG6841SZ chopper driver as start-up resistors are OK.
Any thoughts ? - would just replace it but no panels about - Chris.

Hi Chris ..
I had one of these on the bench a couple of months back ..
12v single supply module blown completely ..silicon charred and cracked ..
Like you I couldn't source the correct psu pcb replacement so bought a 65W psu brick on ebay
Removed the plastic casing and fitted it inside the set where the original pcb was mounted ..
Making sure it was firmly anchored ..
Set has been back with the customer for 2 months now and working fine..
They had to be informed of course ..as this probably breaks rules ..but in all honesty ..a 12v over-rated psu is perfectly safe imo ...no doubt there are those who would disagree.
good luck

Hi E/P,
Never thought of that solution - eventually fitted a PhiHong PSA066-120H from a scrapper - it too has single 12v output and was of similar size - Thanks - Chris.
Hi Doug - Ordered a small cheap heap of SG6841SZ as keen to know fault for next time - sure there'll be more of 'em.
PS - SG6841SZ did the biz, so now have a spare.
