hiya scooby, make sure the ceratech filters are shorted out, if you need the post ill put it up for you, apart from the caps on the secondary we have had little problem with that range of sets, good luck

Cheers Tony the search for "ceratech filters" helped

Quote:
Remove the ceratech filters on the main pcb and short across, they are 908,904,903,906,905,902, all are situated near the connector from the psu, p900. the chokes are preceded by fl. this is official from lg

Thanks..picking up the TV tomorrow so will have a butchers then

Hi

Got the tv today and found 4 2200uf x 10v fluffed...would you recommend I still short the ceratech filters to prevent further problems....or is it a case of "If it aint broke fix it till it is" :0)

No, I'd leave them alone at this stage, especially as you have found blown caps in the PSU. When the filters fail they normally cause slightly different symptoms. Do the filters in your set have a tiny yellow square "dot" in the middle of them as these don't need to be replaced?

I decided not to touch the filters and just replace the caps...the TV is working fine now

Thanks anyways
