Hi
Sony KDL32U3000--PSU A1276-472A...Dead/No standby Light
The set is completely dead no standby light no voltages on secondary side....primary fuse ok
Anyone come across this one before.
As always thanks in advance

Can someone clarify opto's please
The only thing I can seem to find on the board primary side is an opto is giving a strange reading compared to the other 3 identical ones Sharp PC123
Would 1 faulty opto make the set completely dead? And should the Pin1(Anode) & Pin2(Cathode) always act like a diode...the dodgey one is open both ways when checked with DMM, the other 3, between pins 1&2 act like a diode should...open one way closed the other
"Readings taken in circuit"
Thanks in advance

Hi Scoob ...the only way to be absolutely sure is to pop the suspect ..and a good opto off the board ..re -read and compare ..
..and yes a faulty opto could stop a psu starting up ...they can also be responsible for total destruction of the silicon etc.. in a psu ..if they go faulty ..so check other components in the primary of the psu ..._if_ its found to be faulty..
good luck m8

Thanks Evan....All readings are ok out of circuit mate.
To be honest I have just seen a used psu on Flebay for £14 so I think the quickest and easiest option is to replace.
But thanks again

Hi. Usual cause is D6206,D6202 or D6207 reverse leakage. Good Luck
