Title: Baier LCD 27....Inverter tranny..high resistance
Post by: scooby-doo on January 08, 2012,07:11:02
Hello All and happy New Year

Have  this TV, strange fault...gives the impression of an inverter fault..usual turn on then backlights flick back off, but if you change channels it comes back on for a split second then goes off again.

I have checked the inverter and found that one of the tranny's outputs is double the rest ie all are 945ohms and the one in question is 1789ohms....Question, would this make the protection circuit kick in..I thought just a high resistance would make the B/L dimmer!?!?

Any ideas folkes

Cheers in advacne as always

Will pull out all my fubar'd inverters to see if I have a matching tranny.

Thanks again

Pulled a tranny off another inverter and all ok...although the tranny's were slightly different, the one I fitted was sitting at 970ohms not 945ohms, primary sides were same...well it works so its all that matters

Thanks again Chris
