Title: Samsung LE40C530F1N - power probs
Post by: Turnip on January 21, 2012,11:30:39
Hi folks,

Have one of these in with a metal backplate that makes you think it's some gruesome plasma. It isn't, and mine has a no Function/Front LED non-lit problem.

Note that dual primary 100/450 caps charge but no secondary outputs.

S/by 5v supply seems awful complex - BN44-00340B - anyone with ideas, and/or a shematic ?  - Chris

Hi Folks, and thanks for all your help.

Done little yet, still stuggling with that Bush A642F. Feel that today's sets give us too many 'useful' options with no servicing backup (telling us what buttons to press) anywhere.

Always check new model repairs on line generally for known problems - sometimes useful, apart from the chap with tatoos who can't get it to work, even with an axe.

Have similar feelings, but no axe handy - Chris.

PS - Will try suss tomorow - That £29.99 didn't include Vat and post our Jimca007 - it came to some 50 Quid, nearly pressed buy, but chickened out - it's cheaper on Ebay.

PPS - Out of interest, found that if set left on for a while, a red S/by led appears - no functions though. Gave a hefty quote for main and power/inverter - just hope the screen/inverter is OK as the cabinet is fine.

Hi foks,

As some Quuq grandees complain about lack of feedback - replaced power - no go. Replaced main with an alternative for the model - the biz. Could even get the back on without cutting additional holes for 'improvements'.

Made that needy pound, Sparky  - just hope repair lasts at least 3 months - Chris.

I'm. Lost on this one.

If you have no secondary voltages at all. How did the main board be the solution? You must of had a stand by line or some sort of ever voltage?

Hi Andy and thanks.

Confess was lead astray with no initial LED and only a rough check on PS as had no info at the time. Cust was pressing so got a spare PS - made no difference of course, then a main board that did the biz.

Cust now happy, and I've got a good used spare power board.

Hi Sparky, often found that main boards for the same screen size and part number have less/more/different features, where although the set might work you can't get the back on - frustrating, give me a KT3 anyday - Chris.
