Hi i am confused now and need the correct info on the capacitor at ref 2455. I have the service manual for this model which is 28pw6506/05 with a L01.1E chassis. Now my manual says the cap is 47uf 20% 25v But several forums have said replace it with a 47uf 30v. The problem i am having is the set keeps going back to standby when it first turns on! this is because it cuts itself off because the power is to high!!! now if i replace that cap with 30v and not 25v as it says in the schematic!!! wont that cause the same problem, or even make it worse. PLEASE there must a TV guy out there who knows what he is talking about?

the voltage at 30 will be ok.as long as the 47 mf is right it dont matter that the v is a bit higher as long as it isnt lower..if you suspect that cap the loptransister may be gone.check the tube isnt arcing in the neck when you turn it on

Thanks for that ernie, and if it si arcing? the picture at about 7/8 near the top right hand side bows in! i have tryed to reset but it does not want to display correct. I am waiting for bits from CHS so when they get here!!! i will check the neck, then try with new bits in. Regards Charlie

i was thinking about your first post where you said it comes on then goes back to st/by.the tubes are known to fail and cause that.this is why i said is it arcing in the neck.there is a fix for that if that is the problem as i have just done it on a sanyo and a panosonic which have phillips tubes.try the parts that you get and chack the line drive transformer.if you find out its the tube i will explain this fix for you.

Thanks for that ernie I have taken backoff and can find no traces of arcing, when u say the neck i take it u mean either where it opens out by the coils or the white coils part way back the neck that has the join bit with coils!! it has a glow right at the tip inside the clear part but that is as far as i know correct? I am thinking back to the days when we had lots of glowing lights in the tvs lol How do i check the line out? yes i know it is the service manual somewhere!!! Thanks for your help so far. I am looking at the cap 2455 and the bc337's because that seems to be the most common fault on forums i have been on. Regards Charlie

P.S the error codes i had in sdm first were 3-5-11-2-8 i cleared the buffer and that was several weeks ago. Now they are 8-2-3-5-11 the same but diff order, 8 i know is the last one to go on etc. I expect to see the 5 because thats where i think the main problem is on startup!! I am givving up on the other forums because i get answers on here!!! thanks guys! ok now for the silly one, can i use a multi meter without the the high voltage probe to discharge the tube? as in fig2-1 page 2 I want wipe the dust off but i dont want it to bite lol
