Title: L32TA6A PSU
Post by: Geoff S on March 01, 2012,09:04:00
Hi all,
Any body got any ideas on this one ?..

It's a PSM210-417A-R psu in a Wharfdale L32TA6A looking around I see problems relating to the 5v stb posted by folks
The one I have behaves thus..5v is ok 12v attempts to come up but drops as does the 24v. I've checked caps and cold checked regs and all seem ok.

Any suggestions or cures welcomed.
Cheers Geoff

Sounds like inverter. What does it use?

replace the psu caps there is a kit
but also
check Q501 s/c, this fet is not supplied in the kit  RS stock it. Q501- STP10NK80ZFP.
also main smoothing cap as often the cause of most psu blow up problems

Ok thanks for the ideas fellas.
I believe the inverter is ok as the 24v behaves the same way when I disconnect it, also checked for s/c on inv but all looks good.

Will check the remaining caps I haven't changed plus the fet.

Thanks again
