Title: Generic Red Pixel Line question
Post by: scooby-doo on March 05, 2012,06:32:07
Hi

Have got an LG with a single pixel line down the screen, just wondering if there is a test you can do to determine if it is the tcon or the screen. I have got a feeling it is the screen but you never know.

Thanks in advance

Hi, if when on, you gently press the surface of the display panel along the top edge if its a poor screen ribbon contact fault you may see the line dim  or go completely . Generally red lines are a sign of screen failure although
it can be a ribbon/tcon in the odd occasion

Hi Scooby

I have found with LCD's, if its a single line down the screen then its always been the screen
If it's more than one line then can be TCOn or screen
