Title: Prestigo p320dvd-psu=RHPB 10420c
Post by: scooby-doo on March 25, 2012,12:16:44
hi got this TV and once it warms up it looks like it loses a voltage somewhere...it is heat related as when the tv is turned off for 30minutes everything is ok for 5minutes when turning back on.

I have attached before and after pics...checked all voltages from PSU both when working and when faulting but cant find anything odd.

Read on the tinternet that the ldvs cable gives problems...no such luck on this one...all caps look ok

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers Dave

I have tried pressure on the screen and tabs etc nothing, it doesnt effect the fault whatsoever.
Oh an to add the tv still faults with the t-con disconnected.

I am more inclinded to think its a power fault...the reason is that when the tv fails it stays on for about 1minute and then shuts down and restarts instantly after restarting the screen flashes on/off then the relays on the psu start screaming and clicking the tv shuts down again and goes into like a cycle mode I have seen with 17pw boards on numerous occasions.

I have got a spare set of the cold side caps so going to give it a go...nothing ventured and all that

Will post again if it cures it

Hi If I disconnect the LVDS cable and the fault is still there then surely the panel is ok when the tv still faults with no connection to the screen iself.

Or have I missed something??

Hi Again

This one is doing my head in now....if I have no inputs connected and start the tv up the TV doesnt fault and I can have the menu displayed for as long as...connect an input to it and it does the same fault within 1-2minutes

If I disconnect the backlights the fault takes about 10minutes to show its ugly head..but it does fault

Any help appreciated

Hi

I have done a little more searching and have now found the fault

It is the main board RHPB-10294C Rev03
Apparantly the audio chip STV8217 has a short circuit

Trouble is now is getting one of these boards
The board is also used in DMTech TV's it is used in both the 32 and 37inch TV's

Anyone got one

Cheers
