Also PANACHE P32LZ53HID
Happened suddenly.
Have changed the Main Controller board: YCR190R-3 from eBay. ( Is it likely that two boards would have identical faults when Googling doesn't find this problem? )
Have checked the SCART lead, DVD player and DVDs on another LCD TV - all is OK there.
Note the colours on TV Menu are good and clear, (watch whole movie ).
It's the smearing on 'normal' movies that is bad.
Movie of problem here: http://youtu.be/3IhNsW0key0 (http://youtu.be/3IhNsW0key0)
Edit: I note that even thought the Menu colours are clear, sharp and correct that when scrolling through the options there is a definite fade out from previous option.

Think you will find its the screen. :c023:

How do you work that one out, please? :17:
-
Try the T-Con board, if that doesn't cure it , it will be a faulty screen!

Well, g*****s, looks like you are correct. :03:
I've tried all the other guys' suggestions. Swapped out the Controller and the T-Con board.
Cleaned the connectors.
No change.
Now someone explain just how an LCD screen can suddenly increase its persistence to a staggering 2 or 3 seconds?
Time for

Well sorry its not sortable. But if you search you might be able to get a screen for about 70 pounds.

Taken a look at am are attached photograph on YouTube. I can claim 100 % from experiences that panel of judges is in breakdown.

Yes, thanks g*****s.
But googling suggests there are at least two types of panel on this model, (I guess what manufacturer actually supplied it?).
How do I know/discover which type it is and what is significant, e.g. is the backlight driver panel suitable for any panel type?
Jordan - I take it you are agreeing with the diagnosis that the LCD panel is the fault?

You match the numbers on the back of your faulty screen with new one, then your old inverter panel and t-con will fit new panel.

OK, g*****s, call me a thicko. Do I have to disassemble the rear metalwork to find the screen part number? I can't see one anywhere on the visible back panel.
It has a Samsung part number(s) on labels on the back.
Bear with me - first big LCD to potentially replace :sign0144:
-
sounds like its a samsung screen,on same samsung sticker take that number and google it.

O.K. Good tip. Turns out is Samsung LTA320AA05 panel.
Best price I can find googling is £150 where available.
Pretty well kills the tv. :03:
Still cannot understand how or why the panel can suddenly increase persistence so dramatically. :sign0085:
