:72:Hi guys
Got a Samsung LE40C530F1W. Original fault was remote sensor duff. Replaced and returned ok. Customer called a week later with set turning on and off randomly. Checked remote board and resoldered. Left on soak test appeared ok then turned off. Switched on with remote only to come on for a minute and then vertical bars appeared overlayed on pic. They're not precise lines. If I switch off and back on the set behaves the same. IE Ok for a minute then vertical streaks that become more solid bars.
AAAAAGHH. Any suggestions? :41:
Cheers

Dont know but have you considered software problem.

Hmm. I haven't thought software prob. My fear is panel or tcon but just can't explain how or why. Perhaps a factory reset's worth a go. Anything's worth a shot as I could surely do without the headache.
Thanks for the thought.

Well g*****s, I can hardly believe it but you were spot on. A reset did after some time cure the fault. Here's my take on why....
The customer only has a sky box connected with no aerial connection. After finding out that these sets look for updates two hours after switch off I turned the software update option off. My thought is that the set started cycling to find an update and got caught in a loop of powering up and down eventually upsetting the main proccessor. Resetting effectively stopped the search for software.
I don't know? but a big sigh of relief here.
Thanks again for your input. Really appreciated.
