Samsung LE40C530F1W
Ok. This set has come back again! :33: It's returned to the original problem of switching on and off randomly.
Any thoughts anyone?
Thanks

Hi, what's the PSU power board number (BN number)
I have had problems with one particular board switching the set off at random (such as when a high wattage device like a kettle) was switched on/off on the same power line. It was a problem in the PFC circuit.
Let me have the BN number & i will check if it's the same board.
Regards

The number is pretty close, mine was a BN-00339B & from the diagram it seems simiilar. The PSU i had would initially work ok, then randomly the set would switch off & sometimes not switch back on again straight away, particularaly if something like a hairdryer or Kettle was switched on .You had to leave it a while before it would come back on & it was'nt down to the secondary caps as usual as i had changed them.
I checked the vootage across the main smoothing cap (the large brown one) & the HT was only 328v.DC, i checked on good board & it was 378 V.DC so i believe its a fault in the PFC circuit which is controlled by a small chip (FAN7530) in position ref ICP801 on my board. I haven't had the time to check it out yet but first thing i will try will be that chip (only about £3 on Ebay).
Check your main DC HT voltage as above & see if it's low

Ok thanks fellas
All checks made and no voltage probs. I decided to pull the IR sensor board to see if that was causing trouble.... sure enough the set runs fine with it out.
Question: Anyone got a BN41-01382A control/IR board? !!! :17:

most of this problem is the buttons.
take out the cable and check the tv if it works ok change all buttons.
if not problem is in main board.
