Hi guys, got a Toshiba RD-XV48DT DVD/HDD Recorder in at the moment.
See video here.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAu2xG_loAc&feature=youtu.be
Make sure you turn the sound up loud to hear it.
Basically I get a whiste (as if the transformers not oscillating correctly) and a tick, each time the unit ticks the LED's light up on the unit then die.
I've changed most of the capacitors on the board apart from the 3700uf capactiros, and the main smoothing capactior (none of which were bulging/leaking).
Anyone had this issue before?
Kind regards,
Jamie

Check this resistence in serial (R-1005,1006,1007,1008)
-
EDIT: Here's the readings with the resistors on the board:
R1005 - .480m ohm
R1006 - .570m ohm
R1007 - .563m ohm
R1008 - .626m ohm
Does this shed any light? Apologies for the inexperience I don't often deal with the DVD repairs.

This resistence is on the part switch -look in SM

Forgive me but I don't see any resistance values in the service manual, the parts section only lists very few components, Do you know if the readings I took are good or bad?
Thanks again
Jamie
