Hay people, well after spending day's trying to figure this out I just can't seem to find an answer.
My TV is a 5 years old Hitachi PD5200 at first I thought it might be a PSU problem as these TV are know to have on, having checked all the CAPS and gave it a good look over every thing seems fine, TV works perfect no problems starting, sounds good BUT from time to time (well a lot) it makes a clicking noise, this gets worse when I turn the brightness setting up mainly.
I have noticed when I turn all the setting for the colour down the clicking stops. The noise is coming from the PSU board from what I understand it's some sort of protection relay that's making the clicking noise (something like that).
I really have no idea what's going on if any has any idea's it will be most appreciated.
Many thanks Jon.

Hi Shaun, yes just received it many thanks I hope it will help. To be honest it all looks a little complicated at first glance. I still have no idea where to start with the problem.
I have tried figuring out why the relay is clicking but come up with blanks, if any one is reading this, is it possible the relay has a defect coursing it to click?.
What exactly does a relay do, if I understand that I might be able to get my head around it.
Does it controls the electric current to parts of the PSU preventing it from over loading?, lets say I bye past the relay would something blow up lol.
Think I will stop there as I have no idea really.

Hi,
I have not had this fault myself, but information I have seen on this fault is to,
replace C016, and C201 (270u, 400v), clean the relay contacts,
and resolder/reflow connections, on the stand up PCB, IC201.
Hope this helps,
John.

Hay John thanks very much, seems like I could give that a go, one thing though "resolder/reflow connections, on the stand up PCB, IC201." you mean just resolder the connection's?. also where would I find IC201 I've located IC202.
Sorry for inexperience but what do you mean by "on the stand up PCB?.
Also if it's of any importance the clicking seemed to be coming from the inductor 1v001.
Hope you can clear that up.
Thanks again for all the help guys.
