Hi all
I was reading an earlier post on your forum and I decided to attempt to fix my 32inch Acoustic Solutions TV as the blue power light comes on, but when I turn it on it tries to come on but then it goes back to standby mode. Any ideas what to attempt to replace first on this PCB?? If someone circled the capacitor/thingy in and then reposted the pic that would be a great help!

i've highlighted the capacitors to check, have you got a capacitor meter or a esr meter would be better.

thanks shaun...
i was hoping it would be between 1 or 2 so i could just attempt to replace them both... all i have is a standard multimeter and i don't think there's anything like like built into it... i may have to look into buying a capacitor meter or esr meter if i can't think of anywhere that may test them for me if i bundle them a few quid...
thanks again!

Cheaper to replace em' than buying an ESR meter, at least this way you 'know' that they are new and not likely to give problems.
Whichever way you do it, always use high temperature 105 deg. C types (or higher) low ESR types, this is important.... use standard type capacitors and you'll soon be repairing it again, these are easily obtainable and not costly.
It's OK to up the voltage, say the caps are 1000uF 25V for example you can use 1000uF 35 Volts types..... take note of their sizes and pin spacing though. Components are usually packed like sardines making space very limited.

Hi,
Think there is some info Re - Acoustic Solutions 32761HD (Vestel) on Quuq files - Otherwise, always use good caps or move house frequently.
Davy has it right, but would still get an ESR meter, even if you ignore the 'Good' or 'In circuit' readings, and still change dodgy Bulged top or shrunken sleeved and where PCB is is a bit brown'ish under the cap even if ESR tester gives curious advice.
Always do meself - well - decent caps are still cheap and changing them will give a good reputation - and more important - repeated cash - Chris.
