Title: Panasonic TX-P42S10B 5 flashes Advice needed plz
Post by: dynomo on October 02, 2012,16:54:47
Hello everyone

Got a Panasonic TX-P42S10B in with 5 flashes from the front LED. Had a quick test around and found the SC SUS board to the left has 4 short circuit FET's Q402 Q422 Q421 Q661 and diode D865 gone short circuit. Anyone have experience with this? Does replacing the SC SUS board fix the problem? Or is there something more sinister going on. :sign0085:

Thanks

SC board can cause error codes 3, 4 or 5, and yes, you'll usually find FETs & diodes shorted. I've replaced
quite a few such SC boards with no collateral damage. There is nothing sinister going on.

Hi, do you get issues with the SU and SC Buffer pcbs or are they normally ok when the SC board dies? My SD board has 3 pins on connector SD46 that go to short circuit. I don't have a schematic of that board to know if thats correct.

Update, found schematic of SC board socket SC46 that connects to SD46, pins 3,5,7 all are ground on the SC schematic so looks like everything is ok. Will try a new SC board and see what happens.

Thanks for your reply ! Much Appreciated!

Just replace the SC board. Never had any side issues with SU or SD boards, unlike Samsungs or LGs.
Go for it.

Quick update,

Finally got round to finding an SC board for this set. Customer did not want it repaired and left it for us to play with or for spare parts. Fitted a second hand SC panel which we got from a tv breakers for £20. Set fired straight up and ran with no problems.  :sign0098:
