Title: Samsung LE46C530 Screen Flickers
Post by: Jabboy on October 03, 2012,06:11:53
Hi Guys,

I hope someone can help me with yet an other TV Problem,
I bought the above TV and after connecting it etc, the TV works great for about five minuts but then starts flickering or shall i say screen is flashing?
I was told the issue could be backlight so I changed this but the issue remains, I have also changed T-con and Inverter but no luck.
looking through google search, someone on ebay in US sells a repair kit for the PSU in this TV that is BN44-00341B (The only thing i have not changed).... I wondered if it would be best to replace the PSU at a high cost or could osmeone guide me on how to potentially diagnose and possibly repair it myself?

Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards

PSU most certainly can cause a strobing effect on the brightness. Locate and sever wire link JP852 on the PSU board. Believe they forgot to remove it during production.

I have the same sort of issue on a samsung le40m86bd. Fine until it warms up, then i see slight flickering in the background. I changed the caps but its still there. Like horizonal scan lines. Darker the backlight the more I can see it.

If the power supply caps were gone in the M86BD, maybe you need to access the service menu and ensure that the options on your tv match those given in the service manual for the same model. Maybe the eeprom
has been corrupted.

Problem on this PSU is:
Remove glue from resistors RP-802,RP-805,RP-807 and RP-810,on the underside of PCB,on PSU module (BN44-00341B).Glue causes parasitic resistance that varies when temperature changes.
