Title: Sony KDL-46S2030 sporadically shutting down and restarting

Been playing around with this set for a while trying to figure it out it uses the wax2 chassis which i have been looking at. All output caps have been replaced still no difference! Just wondered if anyone has had any experience  with this set. I have found that sometimes getting the epg guide up it sometimes reboots when brought up!
 Any thoughts?

Not much to go by, cheeky2, so I'm just speculating here. The Bravia has capacity for OTA EPG updates and System updates. System updates are verboten I believe, but not EPG updates, and this could be where your problem lies. In the User Menu, possibly in "Digital Setting Set-up", you should be able to Enable/Disable this feature. Try it and observe if your headache persists.

Tried that already disabled updates and made no difference to epg when switching it off. Had a similar problem with a bush set and it turned out to be a dodgy cap across the psu it looked ok! It looks like i will be buying an esr meter just to test them out.
