Hi,
I've recently had a real pain with a Wharfedale LCD3210HDAF tv.
It came in as the usual Vestel psu problems, ended up being a total re-cap almost, all the usuals, the 15nfs and nearby caps - and the caps around the 78L05.
I now having it running well, as far as picture, but no sound at all.
Power to the amp board is good, no audio input signal present, so must be the 17MB15E-7
When changing volume level up/down - that's when I noticed really slow button response, maybe 3-4 seconds of holding needed before action is done.
same for all buttons, I've pulled the button board and checked the switches (I was concerned as its from a heavy smokers place) - I did change some as the switching was poor on some - no change to the response though.
Also when in no signal, it counts down in 2 second jumps - 4.59 - 4.57 etc is that usual? I thought not.
The psu is all good, so I'm suspecting the 17MB15E-7 eeprom next...
Does anyone have an eeprom dump I can try?
Thanks in advance,
Si

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
It's a known good source (my test dvd player) and cable - gets switched around on many sets every week.
It's been used to test tvs between tests of this set. Tried both scart inputs too.
It's not just the sound that's the issue - It's the slow button response (tv side panel).
Power to amp board is good, scoping the audio-in of the amp board shows no signal from main board.
Cheers,
Si

Update:
I tried a few eeprom dumps with no success, using a new eeprom and the existing device.
I ended up picking up another main board, all sorted and back to the customer.
Buttons now work as fast as expected, no-signal counts down in 1sec intervals and has sound - yay!
Cheers,
Si
