HI, got a Samsung UE32C4000PW with horizontal line. Panel fault I thought?

Think these had a panel check - test patterns - generated on the t-con. Access via service menu. would put your mind at rest if that is the case.

OK thanks for that info. Will check it out. I fired the set up just now, the picture is all there but there is a white line/ band about 2 inches horizontal all the way across the top of the sceen. That line / band shows the picture but it's as if just that band area has the brightness turned right up. You can see the picture in the line, band but its very milky. Not seen one like this before. Normally you get coloured lines ect and screen is clearly duff. I have had a plasma do something similar and that was a ribbon not plugged in correctly.

Check it out by all means, but your suspicions are likely correct. I've seen faulty Samsung panels do that.
