Hi
I am new around here with a little tv knowledge but not a guru...Please be kind and not too much technical chat please
I have an lg42lg7000 that has a fault when starting, it boots up, backlights illuminate then it runs through a cycle like one of the inverter transformers is down..backlights light up for 10 seconds go off for 2 seconds then on again, everything else is then redundant, you have to pull the power cable from the back of the set the power button on remote and front panel does not do anything.
I just have a backlight flashing lg at present
Any help with his one would be appreciated

Hi thanks for the reply,
PSU EAX40157601/17
Main EAX43060102/2
I am begining to believe its the main board fluffed, All voltages are good on psu, with inverter and t cons disconnected I am still geting the same fault.
The 3v on/off voltage is fluctuating from 0v-3v with just the main and psu connected, isnt the 3v a signal from the main?????
Thanks for any further info advice

Hi
I have ordered a board..to be honest I was lucky to find it should be here saturday morning so will let you know.
The only other person I found selling the board was for a new and it was £120. :03:
After doing a little more searching I found a couple of polish forums and a couple have had the same problems which turned out to be the main, so fingers crossed
will let you know

Many thanks for the reply.
can I ask, did you find when cold TV boots up ok with no problems, but when warm if turned off then switched on the TV goes into the fault loop as described in your original post.

Sorry I bought the TV like this, after asking a couple of questions the TV was faulting from start up, then got better, then it was on when the household suffered a powercut....LG's/Power Surge do not go together in harmony, the fault was constant after this.
Will let you know tomoz how it goes with the new board

Many thanks for all the info.
Hope the new board cures fault.

Hi
Can you get a picture up on the tv at all.
If you can have you tried doing the original firmware hack
1. Open Menu
2. Select "Other Options" DO NOT PRESS OK
3. Press 9 on the remote 7 times
You will get a message on screen, leave the TV to do what it is doing it will shut down and reboot, see how you go, would of tried it but I couldnt get the menu up.
I have seen a few people mentioning with this model that updates have bricked, caused other problems after updating.
It is worth a try and it dont cost £120

Is he likely to be able to do this with just LG on the screen? :s_laugh:
