the only way i can get this tv to come on is if i bridge a bit of wire across C7558 (smd capacitor) as stated in another post i can reset the 5 lamp reset errors the i take the wire back of but then the tv wont turn on again

I had one of these in a while back with the same issues. The lamps (normally one or two) need replacing. It's getting quite common for the lamps to go on these sets. If you can fire the set up you will see a dark area where the lamps have failed normally. They are not fun to change either :c023:
You can get the lamps from here http://www.chsinteractive.co.uk search for CCFL

I just looked through the database. The one I had in was the 32 inch version and uses different length lamps. http://www.chsinteractive.co.uk/electrical-components/misc/lc32d44e-lamp-backlight-ccfl-sharp.htm
Give Charles Hyde a ring they should be able to help you although I warn you these lamp replacements were not cheap. £28 each. To check the lamps you need a CCFL tester. You can probably find one on Ebay I would guess. The bad lamps will probably be very black on the ends visually. From memory I think there were 10 lamps in the 32 inch version.
Goodluck !
