Title: Distored (green-red) Picture - Relisys LCD
Post by: supermanstan on January 21, 2008,15:04:32
Hi,

Is my LCD TV Brown Bread? (dead) - Do I need to geta new one or can I economically fix this?

See pics as I can't really explain what is wrong (but I'll try).

When I turn on the TV the picture is fine, then after about 5 mins the screen goes green-red (picture still visable, but not watchable), apart from about 1.5 inches at the left of the screen, which is fine. this lasts 5 mins to 4 hours.

Thanks for your help,

Stan

hi,just had this problem on a vestel set.the cable(flat or round) that goes from the main board to the actual screen is normally the cause for this.the screen end may well be under one of the pcb's.they normally look as though they are inserted ok,but are not.if you can open the back of the set up support any boards that might be in the way , turn the set on and wait for the fault to appear, then gently push home the cable at the screen end.if this cures the fault you will need to cut the old glue away,re-seat the connecter, push home all the individual wires with screwdriver, turn set back on ,hold in place and glue back(hot glue gun)

Absolutely correct guys, It is the L.V.D.S lead.  Low Voltage Difference Signal. I have cleaned them many times and have had them come back for being intermittent, So I would advise replacement. on the lead is the part number eg starting in 300****/** if so you can get it for Toshiba or Hitachi but you may have to put a letter V in front of the number.
