Title: Mosfet Alternative, how low do you go?
Post by: chrisantony on February 05, 2013,17:12:41
Hi

I have a set with a major S/C which destroyed a 5A fuse in both plug and board, I found two of the FET's S/C'd, the fets that had blown were n-600v 7.5A, just looked for an alternative and it was coming up with n-600v 6.0A, now I dont mind trying the odd lower rating, ie if it was 600v 7A then I may of put a dollar on it being ok, but 1.5 amps do you think that is a little excessive???

Its working good if your driving circuit had no other problem in gate line or over load..

Hi,

You will probably have other faults too! Usually a faulty drive IC and / or associated components, also could be a faulty CCFL you should check the current being drawn from each one.

Cheers Keith

I took a risk and used a couple of 6.5a Fets out of another board and you are spot on mate, took the ic out, lost all 24/12v.

The board in question was a BGFP3220004AD so I just interchanged with an MLT668 and TV works a treat.

Thanks again
