Title: xenius 32" power problem
Post by: wayne662003 on March 08, 2013,14:40:42
Hi, Ive got a xenius 32" unit that doesnt power up, upon plugging in the unit bleeps once and the standby led blinks once then stays out, no further response from the tv.

The xenius i believe is from the buy as you view range, using the vestel psu ips10-3-20456210 similar to the tesco technika units and also some alba models. ( dont quote me on it though, just what ive found from trawling the net )

I would assume the psu is at fault but cannot find any reference to these psu's to find what the fault could be.
If it was the psu would the unit bleep and standby light flash once upon plugging in ???

Any help would be much appreciated. :)

What's the model number?

The early Xenius sets were made by Harwa, later models were various Vestel chassis.

The Buy As You View conmen, oops, I mean salesmen used to tell the poor punters they were made by Panasonic  :s_laugh:

You need to look inside first to confirm which PSU is fitted as there are many variations even with the same model number.

lol conmen would have been the better response there and i aint seen any refernce to panasonic lol ( no supprised they use such under-handed sales ploys to sell the shabby made tvs )

Anyway the psu in the unit has the model/part number ips10-3-456212 which, when i researched it came back as 17ips10-3 20456210 and being used in techika, alba, techwood to name but a few, i dont have the model number of the tv unit im affraid as the person i picked it up off, i assume has ripped the serial label from the back and i cannot retrieve it from the tv as it wont power up.
