evening chaps, i've just been given a hitachi plasma to repair it's a 42pma400e, switch it on goes green then orange i think it's in power saver mode, didn't get a remote, so not sure how to get out of it thats where i am at the minute thanks for tour time

Possibly the fan is clogged up, but I think amber (orange) LED means it can't detect an input.

thanks downunder, this set hasn't got any fans, even the service manual list it has having fans. my be signal board fault, thanks for your time

i got caught out, you say you had it given, could it have had fans, especially in view of the fact the service manual says so.

your probably right tony, but i've just notice there's no aerial connection, so i think this uses avc box to obtain a picture thanks for the interest

Ah yes, i had a Bush brought in a few years ago, it was the same as yours, its called a media box. and on this one i had to wait until they brought the box in. Same symptoms!

The 42PMA400E is a monitor for use with a PC or other video imaging devices. When the sync signal is no longer detected, the indicator lamp of the power source changes to orange and the mode switches to power save mode. From the user manual.

thanks chaps i've got 2 sets like this, sorry to say down the tip for these nice looking set, but you wouldn't want to drop it on your foot, one of the heaviest plasma's tv i've lifted
