Post by: magikbilly on May 07, 2013,17:04:45
hi

i have a bravia 40s2350 with red led blinking twice-pause then repeat which from research is VD1.8, DE5V/6V Voltage Trouble (DCALERT2).

i bought a power board from enigma spares on ebay but same result. could both boards be bad. any fixed this fault cheers

it's possible i'd test the connector on the power board for 5 volts 12v  24v but i don't know what  sort of experience you have. it's best to try and get a service manual this will help you good luck.

regards

hi

thanks for young r reply i have emailed you the service doc as i could not upload it here

i tested the power supply where the connectors are but i can only test them until the front led flashes
then wait for it to stop flashig then test some more. i mainly see some regulated and un regulated voltages

also some 18v connectors.

where do i test 5, 12 and 24v

thanks

on the psu the connectors are usually marked, make sure your negative probe is connected to chassis ground and red probe for testing, meter should be set on dc volts thanks

Code 2 is normally a REG 12V SOS. Assuming your power supply board is OK, the Main Board is the most likely suspect. 12V may also go to the T-Con.

Just uploaded the schematic for you on downloads its a wax2t chassis and almost certainly fault on mainboard. Presumably you cannot read the schematic as you would have found the DCALERT2 on page47 and the fault more likely on page 46. I guess you bought the set off ebay recently as i saw an identical unit go with the same fault! If it was i was going to bid but went for too much for me!
good luck in repairing it
