Title: Panasonic TX P42X50B red led flashes 14 times
Post by: trevorsheppard on June 07, 2013,05:06:48
Hi, hope someone can help me with this. Customer moved house, plugged it in and heard crackling now the set tries to come on but then red led starts to flash 14 times. Has the main pcb just locked up in this mode as it seems to be a strange failure mode, ie coincidental with move. Is there some forced reset i can give it as the crackling the customer heard may have corrupted it somehow. I believe 14 flashes may refer to audio fault? any help appreciated.
Regards, Trevor :brinda:

:13: Hi again, pressing the function down button while applying the mains got it out of its shutdown mode. Am wondering if it has a problem with arcing in the mains lead plug/socket on the tv as i have heard it arc but may have been because it wasn't pressed home fully. :051bye:

No error code 14 according to the service manual. Try self-check mode: [press & hold 'VOL v' on the tv panel and 'OK' on the remote for 3+ seconds.] Self-check menu appears. 'NG' beside any item denotes 'no good'. For a factory reset: [press & hold 'VOL v' on the tv and 'MENU' on the remote for 3+ seconds.]
Switch off at mains to exit either mode.
