Title: 17PW26-3 rebuild
Post by: ProDave on September 19, 2013,13:43:45
I have a blown up 17PW26-3

Rather than just buy another, I fancy a component level repair.

Q813 and Q814 (the main chopper pair) both short circuit.

Am I likely to find IC830 that drives them also blown up?

It's marked as an FAN7711 though the schematic I have for this PSU gives it as a TNY2666

I guess what I'm asking is whether this sort of PSU has a habit of blowing everything when they go pop?

Hi,

Don't expect these kits to be a 100% fix! I have not yet had one where these kits would have fixed it, there are usually other faults too, or maybe I am just unlucky!

I'll have to shop around to see if I can get the parts individually cheaper than those repair kits.  I can get a second hand working board for £20

A 17PW26-4 will also work as a replacement
