Title: How do I set full white raster?
Post by: Cornboats on April 09, 2014,11:53:08
Tv manuals always refer to setting voltages or viewing waveforms with full white raster.
Does anybody know how do I get this?

I presume using a pattern generator, we still have one but it's rarely used now. Another tool sent to the cupboard along with the Wheatestone Bridge and the wobbulator.

Hi Tony. Thanks for taking the trouble to reply. I was hoping you were going say you can access through service mode.

Do you set voltages and take scope readings with full picture on or with blank screen?

A lot of sets have built in pattern generator, but not all. I suppose it was more for crt sets, as beam current and line stages were worked to the hilt under such conditions. In the olden days references were done using an Avo8, haven't seen one in years!

Hi Tony
I can short auto gen on control board to force pattern making but the patterns don't
include a full white raster.
I guess I'll have to leave it at that.
Many thanks for taking the trouble to reply.
