Code 4 is a panel balancer error. As it backlit by LEDs, I'd be checking the LED driver board. If it uses a Samsung display panel, then it's a case of "caveat emptor"......don't know how the Scots say it but Google may help.

Hi Bruce,

Your Latin is 'Triffic for an Aussie, but you don't seem to mention what the problem might actually be in words that simple folks might comprehend.

Just a Turnip.

Sorry if I was a tad cryptic for umble Turnips. I don't know the fault with samisat's tv.....can only nudge him in the right direction. Samsung LED panels appear to have an unenviable failure rate. I've haven't yet gutted a Samsung LED panel to test the LEDs, but I believe it's no easy feat , unlike LCD panels which I can probably do blindfolded (not).

Hi Bruce,

Was unaware of Sammy LED panel faults. Like you, do ccfl problems almost monthly, but with eyes open, as they might be genuine Sharp.

Yours - Obadia Turnip.
