Title: Screen issue on SAMSUNG LE40D403F7 any solutions?
Post by: cheeky2 on May 07, 2014,05:57:30
Just been having a look at this Samsung tv which has screen issues see pictures!
I have upgraded firmware and reset it in the service menu with no differences.
I have found its more likely the screen being a  LTF400HM05 the tcon board is on the bottom!
 A really cheap Samsung TV
I am pretty confident that its a screen fault however i haven't found any info on this particular screen.
I also see that Emos do a repair service on this screen so i would guess it must be a broken link between the tcon board at the bottom and the lcd?
 Any thoughts for a repair?

Thanks unfortunatly the TCON board runs the whole length of the screen at the bottom! The tcon you pictured is for a different screen where the tcon is at the top of the screen.
Yes the bottom of the screen! see attached pics

I must say it is one the cheapest sets i have worked on and one i will certainly steer clear of! Considering its only around 18months old!

Contacted Samsung Customer Service re the warranty came back with answers like firmware upgrade reset colours etc! What can i say but not impressive when a basic question like warranty is asked via serial number.
All of which have been carried out previously btw

Hi,
EMOS do repairs on displays, but this size would cost over £100!
Is there any corrosion on the control panel?
This is a common problem with these upside-down displays.

Yes i saw that but at £161 for a repair on the screen not an option especially when i need to send it to them. In my apinion tv is not worth that 2nd hand!
I did see that corrosion was issues with them when people cleaned them (fluid doing damage to tcon board at bottom i guess!)
The TV was handed back now to customer a few days ago so i cannot do any more further investigation :)

Thanks for your comments :) Have a good weekend
