Title: AOC 22K097 powerboard 110V to 220V SOLVED
Post by: xerian on September 02, 2014,02:46:59
Hello. I've had trouble with AOC 22K097 LED TV. Power supply 715G3895-P0A-H20-002H burns out SMD Resistor R936. After inspection I thought that IC 904 is faulty (RT8482GS http://www.datasheetlib.com/datasheet/948276/rt8482gs_richtek-technology.html). By searching thru eBay I've found similar board 715G3895-P01-L03-002H from USA. and I wasn't careful at first at the difereces betwen them. So when I plug it in, TV worked fine for 2 to 3 minutes then one of the big filter capacitors on a HOT side pops and the other heats up. I've quickly disconected it form mains, knowing mistake I've done. I,ve pluged 110V board on 220V outlet!!  :73:
Because of similarity between boards I want to rebuild 110V board into 220V board.
I've already replaced two filter capacitors 100uf 200V with 39uf 450V and recirtifier bridge from one board to another. I've also spoted diferrence in size of L903 and I Will swap them. Tere are also diferences at 2 cheramic capacitors near bridge recertifier on 220V and FB902 and FB903 right behind mains plug in conector on 110V board. What should I do with them?

But the biggest question remains, what about a T901 transformer? It is the same on both boards!! I'm little puzzled, cause after replacing only this elements, I will get approx. 400V on filter capacitors and that is not right. Can somebody please look thru shematics if I forget something?  :sign0085:
Probably the easiest way would be buying 220 to 110 adapter on mains, but that is only emergency exit, cause I need to buy it along with special dimensioned filter capacitor witch I blew out and that takes time.

Hi xerian,  attached is a 10/240VAC power supply for AOC L26W831. Appears to have similar (maybe) reference numbers. You may find it helpful.

Hi Bruce,

Your attachment didn't work for me in the UK.

Bit curious generally as most stuff these-days works from 110 to 240 no probs, but notice yours works from 10/240 which is a bit different to the usual - Chris.

Have you checked the part number on the transformers are the same? Might provide a clue.

It seems these days you just gotta go from the part numbers, rather than the model or board number since there *may* be variations in them.

Hi Chris,

10/240V !!! A typo. 110/240V sounds feasible.

Not entirely au fait with how auto AC switching is achieved. MOVs perhaps (metal oxide varistors).

Must check with my erudite bunyip for his theories.

My attachments never seem to work for you. Could it be that your computer is a septagonarian too.

How about you, xerian? Were you able to open my attachment?        Bruce

Hi Bruce,

A new 'Hero' with already a typo.

Much impressed, as I try correct mine overnight before anyone notices.

Still using XP, as later versions ask you if you want to do what you want to do.

Have just bought a fast 4 core 7 for game-playing grandson. He says it isn't fast enough, as his last game download was 5GB - Took two weeks to download in rural Norfolk as still on Copper, and seemed pedestrian - he said.

Searching Fleabay for a 'Dude' graphics card - whatever that means - Chris.

Well I've replaced filter capacitors, bridge recertifier and L903 coil. Thermistor NR901 is the same but there are two capacitors C925 in C927 wich were not on the 110V board. I've soldered them onto rear side. TV set works fine now for a month. :c017:
