Hi folks,
Got one of these in - Think it's the 'turbo deck' - last one Philips made, where on the mode motor drive shaft, the plastic spur gear cracks - favourite, years ago.
Tried repairing with super glue - doesn't usually last.
Wonder if anyone remembers the part number, as some suppliers still have tons of old VCR bits, as VCRs died rather quickly when folks moved on to DVB and DVD, but I can't find it without a part number, and 'Black Diamond' isn't highly regarded.
Thanks - Chris.

Hi Chris
This is probably what you are after, but you wont like the price.

Try ruffing the shaft with some emery cloth and using a fast setting epoxy to glue the gear on, usually work for me.
Ps. did you get your Tevion sorted?

Thanks Daz,
Guess it's the 40 inch 'Tevion' with the suspect Vestel main board - Fleabay chap hasn't yet said 'posted' so cust with kids phoning daily about progress.
Earlier one was a 47 inch, where after replacing 4 inverter panels, the problem was duff tubes, where a 40 inch screen smash gave tubes just an inch short - did the biz - on short wires.
Note that Wiltsgrove has heaps of old VCR stuff they can't shift - ChasHyde prices are ludicrous for anything bigger than an Eeprom.
Thanks for the part number, had checked C/H for Black Diamond stuff - Nothing at all - Thanks - Chris.
PS - Shaft is toughened steel, tried sort on the grinder giving some angles so the super glue might grip - had to give a refund on an earlier one when it didn't.
Hate refunds, as we do - Thanks again - Chris
PS - Note Wiltsgrove doesn't now have anything useful, so guess ChasHyde is the biz for folks with cash.
Not yet met any.

Donberg Electronics supplied these to me many years ago
They might still have some

Hi Leo,
Did it with S/glue, and this time not yet back. Folks wanting VCRs mended don't usually make with much cash, but currently making the pound on tape to dvd conversions - All babies, weddings and holiday exploits, but don't need to watch so much, just screen shot a few notable piccies for the dvd cover - Folks love it.
Thanks - Chris.
