Hi all, ive got a sony KDL-37S5500 that I changed the main board due to no sound. it has cured the fault but the colours are all over the place and solarizing.
I believe this is because the new pcb came from a 32s5550 not a 37".
The boards are the same but the software is different. has anyone got access to sony assist who could get the software for me please?

Hi Cart 984,
Guess you're right, 'natch you need a board from exactly the same screen size set,
As ever.
Hope you find your software - Chris.

another problem with changing the main board, and just using a model number, to match it to your main board is,
manufactures use different screens types during the production run of a model
The main board is programmed to match this screen type
part numbers are always best when you have them

Hi leonard085,
Discovered that a while ago, Flea is now getting better as best sellers now give screen versions. Had a word with a few that don't, but sadly they can't quite see the difference.
Guess they're now rather less that 100% - Chris.

Hi,well I know it's an old topic, but I'd like to add a thought on it:in order to match the new mainboard to
the TV you should use a specific gig (TL-3 or so!) who actually rewrites the software to the right one,
depending on the size of the screen;usually this is performed by an authorized Sony service center.
