Title: Philips LC370WX1 Quick check tip
Post by: Geoff S on October 30, 2014,08:06:33
Hi all

Had this Philips in for repair stuck in standby or off. Customers remote not working.

After voltage checks and isolation of inverter was going to ditch repair. The manual buttons didn't feel too good so pulled plug on pcb. Hey presto the set came up.

Got remcon working and the set's been fine ever since.

Just thought I'd share.

Geoff

Hi Geoff,

Do we suspect tact switches faulty ? - You didn't say, but maybe should have - 'Presto' is dubious on Quuq as is often total rubbish - Chris.

I had a problem with a tactile switch on the old crt type tv
it was a profilo chassis pt92
one of the tactile switches was closed all of the time, and the unit would not come out of stand by
one possible explanation for this is the microprocessor was receiving a command from the tactile switch and also from the remote to take it out of stand by
Its possible, it could only deal with one command at a time
we see this on a remote control, try pressing two buttons at the same time

Hi leonard085,

Tact switches are always a problem, and a good earner.

Only have doubts about 'Presto' where folks pull rabbits out of hats.

There are few rabbits in TV repair that actually pay.

Just a thought - Chris.

Hi turnip
A model number of the Philips TV would also have  helped
as the number quoted, is the screen type, which is found in many different brands
