Title: Pioneer XV-BD500FS Blu-Ray Cinema - 'Please Wait'
Post by: Turnip on December 19, 2014,07:29:45
Hi folks,
Have one in where for the first minute it seemed to work normally, then it stopped and only eject button works, and 'Please Wait' is continually displayed.

Initially didn't have the speakers connected so don't know if it's an audio problem causing shut down.

Any thoughts ? - Thanks - Chris.

Hi Chris,

It's been a while, but good luck with this one. I suspect something on the main board, 1.2V, 1.5V or 3.3V rail missing or 27M uPC crystal failing. Not sure.

Every Pioneer main board I've replaced has brought grief wrt wrong software, new software needing to be uploaded, having to phone Pioneer, etc. And that was for warranty units.

Unless you can spot something simple like an obese cap, I'd take big strides to avoid it...starting to sound like you now.

Bruce

Hi Bruce,

'Strides' are more you than me, but will take your advice and chuck it in the Dunny with the rest.

Was initially impressed with the complexity, then freaked by it. No PS cap looks pregnant and the main board is a horror though the sound board looks sweet and simple.

Thanks, and have a Happy Crimble on the beach - Chris.
