Title: Bush LED24127FHDDVD - No go.
Post by: Turnip on December 19, 2014,12:14:26
Hi Folks,

Had one in today for no go and D10(UF5402) on P/S was S/C.

My first success with this great Vestel, the rest on the pile seem to be main board Eeprom issues - Chris.

Yes apparently common fault on the power supply by all accounts!
One of the three uf5402 shorted out D708, D709 & D710  . Apparently its best to use thermal epoxy to stick the diodes together and make sure they run at the same temperature otherwise likely to occur again. Ordered a 5g tub from ebay and it came as 10g as seller had run out!

This info was obtained here  http://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=28778

Set has been running fine ever since :)
Happy Christmas to everyone and have a great New Year :)

P.S. Just realised my set is a LED2497ODVDFHD

Hi Cheeky,

Set was the model I mentioned where duff diode was singular and couldn't be glued to anything serious.

Must admit that when folks glue things together in manufacture - trouble ensues, always does.

Note always they glue things that will never move, and usually choose HV ceramics for some reason, and with latterly conductive glue - we never knew, but suspected after early Sammy sets  Phutted a bit.

Rarely see any working Sammy power boards on the Flea. doubtless for that reason - Chris.

Hi Shaun,

Well done, but could you stick diodes together as Cheeky does ? Mine were 2 inches apart and don't have such stretchy glue.

Guess another Vestel model, as there are several, but suspect after Sammy experience, glue is real trouble.

Wouldn't much mind but Sammy glue most always kills the panel when it flashes over -

Trust Cheeky uses glue with no serious issues - bit troubled, but guess Cheeky will sort any doubts -  Chris.

Tried getting on this site around a week ago and was down so had to do some homework with regards to this set and as a result came up with the link already posted.
If you read the link one guy has repaired quite a few of them so tend to listen to people with experience on the matter :)
The thermal glue is Halnziye HY910 check it out.
Happy Christmas

Ive replaced quite a few of these diodes in different sized sets up to 40 and - touch wood - havent had any back yet. Havent glued them, just left long leads

Hi Cheeky and thanks,

Didn't doubt your input from folks who know, just haven't yet had the problem. Will check out Halnziye when I do.

Admit little experience, as guess Vestel main board Eeprom problems usually prevent LED backlights from firing up.

Could be wrong, but was happy to mention my first success from something so simple.

Thanks Cheeky - And Jolly Crimble - Chris.
