Hi guys Have a faulty board in a 42 inch hitachi . Have put in same board out of a 32inch hitachi . Working fine but transformer is smaller and Charles Hyde website sells one board up to 32 inch and another for 37 and over.Anybody know if it will keep working or do I have to get the board with the larger transformer on it. Thanks for any help

which board ?? psu ??
if so not powerful enough hence larger transformer

Hi fix2003 its a 17pw26-4 vestel power supply . Just wondered if anybody has changed the power supply board out of a 32 inch and put it into a 42 inch one and if it lasted
-
It may well work providing the voltage doesn't sag but I wouldn't be trusting it because, the back light will be bigger in size and may require high current and voltage to run them at the correct colour temperature and since a larger screen has more pixels this will require more chips to drive them which will result in more current consumption of a kind.
The power supply may well look the same but may well have component variations in the Primary and secondary sides. I reckon the clue is 'one size doesn't fit all' so to speak otherwise they wouldn't categorize them for sizes.

Hi Guys . Put in the board and it lasted a couple of weeks now it trips out at turnon . Obviosly not enough power for the screeen . If you turn it on/off a few times it does come on . Tx is smaller on the 32inch board . Just thhought that somebody had the same problem and maybe a couple of caps could have been changed

you need the bigger tx to take the current you need

Thanks fix2003,will just have to buy a board
