Title: Samsung LE46M87BD Power cycling
Post by: All Mod Cons on April 16, 2015,11:12:56
Hi All,
I have a Samsung LE46M87BD. It powers on and works fine for about 5 minutes. Then it starts a cycle of powering off and powering back on again every 17 seconds.
I've checked the caps on the power board. They look ok but I replaced 2 x 2200uf 10v, 2 x 1000uf 25v and 1 x 1000uf 10v anyway.  Unfortunately after this I still have the same fault.

Could anyone please suggest what else could be wrong or a candidate for changing?
Thanks,

Hi,
Worth checking the 1000ufd SMD's on the main PCB.
Near the large screening plate (and also the one under it),
these are getting common for type of fault.
Regards

Hi Thanks, do you mean the other circuit board, rather than the power board?  I can't see these devices on there. But also can't see a screening place on the power board.

Thank you

I've just reseated all cables between the boards and it's been upd and running for about 90 minutes now with no issues.  I wonder if a loose cable could have caused this kind of fault.

Problem reoccurred, in the end I went for a new power board, only £26 including delivery. All sorted now with no power cycling issues.
