Hello All, weird one this. I've got a plasma which had lost it clock and has much of the EPG data missing. Although everything else works as normal, finds all DVB channels but there is no time scale on the EPG horizontal bar and no time display in the top right corner on EPG. The clock issue was intermittent but has now gone completely. I have the service manual but it's not much use for diagnosing this one, same in service mode.
Thanks in advance,
Matt

Hi Matt,
As you have the service manual, can only point you to the page about the Self-Check Mode. If you enter the self check menu, check any items marked "NG" = no good. Not expecting any, but when you exit the mode it will automatically carry out a factory reset. When you turn it on again, you will find it in the state it was in when first unpacked. Just follow the prompts on the screen. Hope that restores EPG and clock data.

Hello Bruce,
Thanks.
The set had been disconnected for more than 24h, and oddly the clock and time bar are back on EPG tonight!
I followed instructions and got into Service 1 but can't understand how to get into Service 2 as step 2 is to "set EQ to 12kHz". The trouble is, no such setting is available so far as I can tell in any menu.

Forgot to say, although clock came back, EPG data is still missing completely from 2h on for all channels.

Hi Matt,
The Self-check mode is different to the service mode, and involves holding down VOL V on the panel and MENU on the remote for 4 seconds (TV has to be ON). Try that and see how you go.

Hello Bruce,
Thanks for clarifying that. I should read more carefully. I tried holding down menu on the remote and the -/V button the set but nothing happened, so I checked the SM and it turns out the self-check mode on this set is accessed by holding down the i on the remote and the -/V button on the set. Anyhow, the self check gives all OK. Oddly the yellow timer LED lit up and stayed lit after re-tuning. But the clock has disappeared and the time-bar is again blank. After turning off and on the yellow timer LED went out, but still no clock or more than a couple of programmes on each channel of the EPG. Same after turning off "properly" by disconnecting mains then back on.
I would look for a 32768Hz crystal on the schematics but none of the frequencies are marked...
I'm used to working at component level including SMD but I think this one will be better done with swapping boards - but which one?
All the best,
Matt

Hi Matt,
My blue concerning the button. I should read more carefully.
I'd say look at the DG board. Page 9 of the manual shows location of boards and their functions.
