Hi folks,
Have the set in which cuts to s/by after minutes, heat the main board and it cuts in seconds.
Blast of freezer on the heat sink and it lasts quite a while.
Don't suspect it's repairable so off to Ebay where I met a problem.
Faulty main board is 1-881-636-22 which sellers maintain is for KDL-40EX403.
Sellers suggest either 1-881-636-21 or 1-881-636-23 for the 32 inch model.
Guess could be a screen make issue, mine is LTY320HM01.
Any thoughts ? - Thanks, Chris.

My guess is both yourself and the seller are taking the part number off the board but this is the number of the actual board with no components, all part numbers for complete circuit boards for Sony start with A.
The main board (BAL-T2 PCB) for a KDL-32EX403 with a LTY320HM01 panel is part no A1769676A.

Hi Jed and thanks,
Noticed a white label that suggested (Y20088601 118666-103) might be the biz, but folks don't seem to recognise it.
Where can I find the 'A' panel number you suggest - Had a look, but can't yet see it, and folks supplying panels can't either.
Sony now seems as bad as Vestel - Thanks Jed.

Hi Chris,
Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that has probs with Sony part numbers. I usually have to resort to getting them from the service manual and these numbers seem to have no correlation to any numbers on the actual board. Can't track down your model number though.

hi,Jed is right the actual main board's code is A1769676A;main board employed on KDL32EX403 equipped with
LTY320HM01 panel.

Hi Bruce and Mike,
Will try search out A1769676A somewhere on the panel, as don't have the Service Manual as Bruce suggests.
Selling folks don't list it either on Ebay, and offer two versions for the same set, doubtless due to screen variations - Thanks, Chris.

Hi Folks.
Checked out Sony A1769676A on Ebay, and came up with now't useful.
At least with Vestel you get a sticker with numbers that usually don't relate to anything on Ebay, and Vestel don't bother give compatibility advice.
Guess Sony is the new Vestel but they hide their numbers to keep folks guessing - Chris.
Later - Got Ebay board of original number for the 32 inch version and it worked - Relief.
