Hi Sparky,

Can't imagine not trying sort those Led backlights - It's such fun.

Was nice to cross swords with you over the years, Still have your picture of Clive Sinclair's advance to television, with a flat screen tubed telly you found on a car boot.

His C5 was nifty, if with some issues.

Guess Sir Clive might come again with a C6 or a rocket to the stars, though gather folks have sorted a returnable rocket that actually returned to base.

Not suggesting Clive might have issues, as guess we all have, but maybe different.

Hi Sparky,

Gather you're quite young as telly bashers go - Not even 70+  where the real fun begins. Now can't quite hear customer, can't quite see the set, and when trying replace those 4mm square backlight screen Leds, the ancient hands shake a bit, and replacement Leds fall here and there.

Mind you, just sorted one only wasting two Leds - Bit chuffed, as made my entry sorting a Pye V14C line hold issue way back in the mid 50's.

It's history, but the V14c nearly caused Pye to fold, as no-one told the designer chap the set had issues, and needed a new PCF80 every two months, as his Flywheel synch design was crap.

Being a bit young at the time, ripped out the flywheel in favour of triggered synch favoured by Decca in the DM4c with a nice ECC82.

Only got away with it, as 14 inch sets were the biz, and few folks noticed the alternate field scan didn't quite line up - Great days - Chris.

As to Amstrad and Pinnicle - Both crap but gave us a chuckle
