Hi Sly,

It's a thought but duff CCFLs usually trip the inverter in seconds, but if old but semi-functional, usually dull and maybe Pink'ish at start, but nearly OK after warm-up.

Agree with Chris. See if you can locate a BL-ERR pin and note if the voltage there fluctuates, or ground that pin when the flickering starts and see if the flickering stops. Had a Sammy once with strobing backlights that was caused by the inverter board.
