HI Guys, just thought I would put a question here because it gets the most reads so hope Jordan doesnt mind . Its just a DVR from Argos but the customers husband changed the pin code from 0000 and has now died and the lady cannot retune the machine . Is their a way to do a factory reset and get the pin back to 0000 like you could do on the old Thomson boxes . Thanks if anybody can help . Manual says you must contact Argos help line but no joy from them :17:

Hi Kenny, See if it has a [lock] page in the normal customer menu. This is likely where "restore factory defaults" will be. This should restore all settings.

Hi Bruce ,there is a factory reset on the main menu but you need to put the pin number in to get into it . I was just hoping it had a factory reset page similar to the Samsung TV so I could reset it without the pin number

The model number of the DVR is Bush BU11FVRSD32 . Forgot the first letters and number

There is often a master password (apart from the default one) that over-rides all others. I guess that's what they want to charge you for.
Not much info around on Bush. Guess they've gone bush. Ah, these silver service brands!

Hi Bruce,
Bush used to be a UK maker who made sets where folks were impressed. Sadly when Japanese sets invaded showing British sets were crap, they folded, and the name was carried on by supermarket folks who also used 'Murphy' - Another name of fine sets - now total crap at the cheapest price.
Guess can't trust names, as Hitachi has never made a flat screen, and most cheapy Toshiba is now Vestel - Guess their 'Appliance of science' now has marketing issues.
Even suspect some smaller Sony are badged, as guess can't do it for the price - Chris.
