Title: PANASONIC TX42A400B
Post by: kennyc on March 31, 2017,06:15:10
Hi Guys ,have got this fairly new Panasonic . Red light flashes 6 times then goes off  . Its not a Panasonic chassis its a Vestel . Will it just be the usual LEDs gone short or does anybody have any other ideas. Power supply is a Vestel TNPA5916. If all the big companies are going to start using Vestel chassis we all might as well give up . Thanks for any ideas

Hi Kenny,

Was under the impression that backlight error was code 1. Try this:
Disconnect the main board from the PSU and force PS-ON and BL-ON by connecting their respective pins to the STB volts pin via 100 ohm resistors. If the backlights are ok, they should light up.

Not sure of code 6. The service manual only lists codes 1 to 3.                                   Bruce

Hi,

TNPA5916 doesn't seem Vestel - More like Panasonic. Vestel gives us 17 PWXXXX or 17 IPSXXXX

Never yet met a Vestel TNPAXXXX - Chris.

Yep, TNPAxxxx sounds like a fair-dinkum Panasonic part number. - Bruce
